Our Story
Pig Pen Saloon was founded in 1999 by Kevin and Debbie, who arrived in Park City just before the excitement of the 2002 Winter Olympics. From the start, their vision was simple — to create a true gathering place for the old-school ski bum. A place that celebrated locals, friendship, and the easygoing Park City spirit of years past.
Locally & family owned since 1999.
The name Pig Pen Saloon came to life one night thanks to Kevin, his brother Mike, and a bottle of bourbon. At the time, Mike was running a ski guide service in Park City called the Professional Intermountain Guides — better known by its acronym, PIGS. The brothers’ sense of humor and love for the mountain lifestyle inspired the name “Pig Pen” — playful, unpretentious, and a perfect reflection of the ski-town energy they wanted the saloon to embody.
More than two decades later, Pig Pen Saloon still stands as a home base for locals and visitors alike — a little rough around the edges, always welcoming, and full of heart. Our team has become an extension of that family, with most of our staff staying six to eight years, and some surpassing seventeen. That longevity is rare in a resort town, and it’s what keeps the Pig Pen spirit alive. Whether you’re here every week or visiting from out of town, you can always count on a familiar face and a warm welcome when you come back to après with us at the base of Park City Mountain Resort.
It all started with bourbon.
